A safe, secure and 24-hour supervised shelter with private bedrooms for you and your children.

Group support from our partners BASAC and Catholic Family Services.

 

Individual support from our in house crisis workers.

A communal kitchen for your use.  Support in learning  how to make different and healthy meals.

Transportation services.

Children's play area.

A Guide to Staying at Interval House


Battlefords Interval House is a shelter for women and their children fleeing abuse.  We offer a safe accommodations, group and individual support for you as you heal and plan for the future. We believe that everyone deserves to live a life free from violence.
 

During your stay you can expect:

  • You and your children’s safety is the most important issue.

  • The crisis worker will explain confidentiality and what your responsibilities are to stay within the shelter.  

  • Your cultural beliefs and practices are affirmed and respected

  • Crisis workers are here to help you understand your experience of violence and abuse.

  • Crisis workers will discuss with you the effects that domestic violence may have on your children.

  • Crisis workers will work with you to find housing options and support you in getting established as an independent woman.  

 

During your stay, we will provide mandatory groups relevant to violence and healing – you can expect:

  • Your input and participation is encouraged and respected

  • You will be introduced to community agencies that work with victims and families.  

  • You will be supported to identify your strengths, coping skills and personal resources.

 

Crisis Workers at the Shelter Provide:

  • One-on-one support for you and your children.

  • Assistance to find safe, affordable housing.

  • Support in establishing safety plans.

  • Transportation to appointments when required.

  • Referrals to community resources

  • Family-based activities and celebrations.

  • Access to cultural activities and events.

  • Transportation to school and activities
